The courses in this category cover a range of topics related to postoperative induration as clients heal after plastic surgery, including the physiological causes of induration, techniques for assessing and treating induration, and strategies for supporting clients through the healing process from Day 8-Week 8 postOp.

These courses teach the difference between POBC & NSBC clients, covering topics such as contraindications and safety considerations, client assessment and consultation, and strategies for managing client expectations and achieving optimal outcomes. In addition, some courses may provide guidance on integrating noninvasive body contouring techniques with other healthcare modalities to highlight and address treatment gaps.

Note: If you are teaching people HOW to do Body Contouring, this will always be a Foundational course. If you are teaching aspects or concepts about Body Contouring, this will be a supplemental course.

Courses under this category cover topics such as wound assessment, management, and treatment, including the use of specialized dressings and topical agents. Participants will learn about the various types of wounds that can occur after surgery, including incisions, abrasions, and lacerations, as well as the different stages of wound healing.

Additionally, these courses cover the unique considerations that must be taken into account when caring for patients undergoing noninvasive body contouring treatments, such as laser treatments, HIFU, and ultrasound with a focus on dermal care should wounds from these treatments arise. This includes understanding how these treatments can affect the skin and underlying tissues, as well as how to manage any adverse effects that may arise. 

Participants in these courses will also learn about the importance of patient education and communication when it comes to wound care, as well as the role of interdisciplinary collaboration for wound treatment outside of scope of practice in providing comprehensive care.

Participants will thoroughly learn about the lymphatic system, including pre-existing conditions, lymphatic transection, convalescent edema, and healing from trauma with a compromised lymphatic system.

Additionally, these courses cover the different treatment options available for managing convalescent lymphatic disorders, compression therapy, and exercise therapy. Participants will learn about the indications and contraindications for each treatment option, as well as the potential benefits and risks.

Furthermore, these courses will discuss the importance of patient education and communication when it comes to managing lymphatic presentations in real time, including the need for patients to understand the importance of self-care and adherence to treatment protocols.

Courses under this category cover the anatomy and physiology of all 11 of the major systems of the human body, including the integumentary, skeletal, muscular, nervous, endocrine, cardiovascular, lymphatic, respiratory, digestive, urinary, and reproductive systems. 

Participants will learn about the interdependence of these systems and how they work together to maintain homeostasis in the body. 

Additionally, these courses will explore the effects of trauma on the body’s systems, including the physiological changes that occur as a result of injury or illness. Participants will learn about the body’s natural healing processes and how they can support these processes with CSL Therapy bioengineering to promote optimal recovery.

Courses under this category will introduce individuals to the CSL Therapy Organization, its mission, its principles, and values that yield the foundation of our best professional practices. Participants will learn about the CSL Therapy as a medical industry with a focus on patient healthcare around transformative body aesthetics. These style of courses teach others about the industry itself, defining the organization, identifying resources, emerging jurisprudence, and CSL ordinances.

The courses under this category focus on Incisional Sciences— working with clients who have active incisions— studying the biological changes that occur within the first 7 days after trauma, both at the macro level (such as organ system responses) and at the micro level (such as cellular and molecular responses).

The courses in this category cover a wide range of topics, including the pathophysiology of inflammation, immune responses, metabolic changes, coagulation disorders, and wound healing. Participants will learn how these processes are affected by traumatic injuries, and how they can be managed to improve patient outcomes.

Additionally, the courses delve into the assessment and management of trauma patients during the critical first 7 days, covering topics such as resuscitation, hemodynamic stability, pain management, and nutritional support. Students who take courses in this subcategory will also learn about the latest research in onset-trauma care, including new technologies and therapies that are being developed to improve outcomes for trauma patients but are applied during the onset of Day 1-Day 7 after traumatic cosmetic procedures.

The category of courses that teach how to use nonelectric kinetic tools to help clients achieve transformative body goals is designed to equip individuals with the knowledge and skills needed to help others improve their physical well-being. These courses typically cover a wide range of nonelectric kinetic tools, such as negative compression, resistance bands, stability balls, scraper tools and other similar devices.

ACBAA defines advanced sciences as courses that provide a deeper understanding of the human body through courses that typically would fall outside of CSL Therapy but have a correlation and relevance to the Body Altering Aesthetics industry, particularly as it relates to massage therapy and bodywork. Specifically, the courses cover topics such as pre-operative care, the surgical procedure itself, post-operative massage techniques, potential complications and how to address them, pain management, wound care, and other aspects of tummy tuck recovery.

The goal of these courses is to provide individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to ensure that patients receive optimal care and support during their recovery period to minimize complications and ensure that patients achieve the best possible outcomes from their tummy tuck procedures.

The courses aim to educate students on how to manage postoperative pain, swelling, and bruising, as well as the potential complications that can arise after liposuction procedures— and how care changes contingent upon the clients procedures: traditional or smart lipo. Students learn how to recognize infections, burns vs bruises, and seromas, and how to provide patients with appropriate postoperative care instructions.

These courses teach about the application of cryotherapy & how to integrate these treatments safely into client protocols in the Body Altering Aesthetics industry.

These courses help providers understand the differentiation between traditional MLD and MLD/lymphatic massage for clients after plastic surgery; and teaches how to apply standard traditional MLD into Body Altering Aesthetics treatments.

These courses are designed to teach professionals how to read the body’s presentation and develop customized plans to facilitate healing and promote good skin integrity after surgical procedures.

CSL Therapy courses use a unique approach that involves translating the body’s presentation, also known as “Body Braille,” into actionable data. This approach enables professionals to identify and address the root causes of and develop targeted plans to promote healing and skin rejuvenation, allowing clients to heal with good skin integrity.

Courses in this category discuss the general complications and contraindications of the Body Altering Aesthetics industry. This category defines the standard base scope of practice of health for each CSL Therapy modality.

CSL Therapy Ambulatory Pathophysiology is a branch of medicine that focuses on the study in the body altering aesthetics industry the impact of medical conditions on mobility and how it relates to plastic surgery and elective procedures.

These courses cover topics related to anatomy and physiology of movement, medical conditions affecting mobility, postoperative mobility, CSL dermal rehabilitation, assistive devices and mobility aids. These courses provide students with a comprehensive understanding of how medical procedures & body presentations affect mobility, and how to support clients’ re-mobilization process throughout post surgical remodeling to recover effectively.

Energy bodywork is a type of alternative healing practice that focuses on the energy fields that surround and permeate the human body. The theory behind energy bodywork is that imbalances or blockages in the body’s energy flow can lead to physical, emotional, or mental health issues. 

Energy bodywork techniques aim to identify and correct these imbalances by manipulating the body’s energy fields.

CSL Energy bodywork can take many forms, such as Reiki, acupuncture, acupressure, or reflexology, and involve the use of hands-on or hands-off techniques to promote healing, reduce inflammation and pain, and promote relaxation after cosmetic procedures.

Practitioners of energy bodywork believe that by balancing the body’s energy fields, they can promote relaxation, reduce stress and anxiety, alleviate pain, and improve overall health and wellbeing. Courses un these categories focus on teaching students and the general public about various techniques for manipulating the body’s energy fields to promote physical, emotional, and mental health.

Note: Energy bodywork is not used as a substitute for traditional medical care, but a compliment and conjunction to systemic care.

Classes that teach about MmHG, fajas, and compression for both post-surgical and noninvasive body contouring treatments have similar but slightly different objectives for healthcare providers and the general public in the body altering aesthetic industry.

These classes cover a wide range of topics related to medical documentation, including medical terminology, record-keeping guidelines, privacy laws, and the use of electronic health record (EHR) systems.

Some specific topics covered in these medical documentation classes include:
