Posturing Progress & Potential: grounding with CSL PostOp-Indur Agency Officer
The PostOp-Indur Agency Officer is a member of the CSL (Convalescent Synergistic Lymphatic) Therapy organization, chartered with the task of curating and establishing the PostOp-Indur modality. This agency oversees and manages the second stage Post-plastic surgery recovery foundations for providers, clients, and the general public. This stage encompasses the period from Day 8 post-op until week 8 post-op, focusing on addressing induration, promoting healing, and providing specialized medical care. This agency works collaboratively with other CSL Therapy programs to develop comprehensive trainings, resources, and policies to support the jurisprudence efforts of spreading best professional practices to develop better medicine.
Problem 1: Body Contouring has become progressively overused and propelled into the PostOp space as most clients are impressed with machines and equipment. Providers who start using these tools too soon encourage the collagenous layers to harden prematurely from over-remodeling. These incorrect approaches are pushed even further with the vast majority sharing them online like wildfire. Because there hasn’t been approved courses before now, licensed providers has nowhere to go and started adopting the science-less approaches, further validating incorrect behavior.
Problem 2: Licensed LMTs and edema based providers began overreaching in the claims of lymphatic massage, certifying everyone interested in attending their courses. And because they used the right buzz words stolen from Caribbean providers who laid the groundwork for their course AND they have established professional structures, no one questioned the quality of their accredited course. However, these courses lack basic BAA necessary tutelage ranging from compression, industry contraindications, wound care complication protocols, and most importantly: skin integrity to yield high level sculpting results for clients.
The resounding issue that both problems present is they waste resources. Once clients discover they have been going to someone that doesn’t know what they’re doing— time and monies have been wasted. Once a provider realizes that the courses they’ve paid thousands of dollars for didn’t teach them what they needed to know— time and monies have also been spent. There are actually 21+ problems we’ve identified within the Body Altering Aesthetics Industry.
Our goal within the CSL Therapy PostOp-Indur space is to create programs, approved curriculums, and high grade protocol based resources and solutions to address industry problems. All certifications offered will be in alignment with CSL Therapy Guiding Principles; will be backed by science and research; will be certified by the Council and approved by a Governing Bureau; will provide a robust catalog of trusted research and enriching industry resources.
