038.1. Respect for Patient Property:
- CSL Therapists shall treat all patient property, including personal belongings and valuables, with respect and care, ensuring their safety and security during treatment sessions.
038.2. No Unauthorized Access:
- CSL Therapists shall not access, use, or handle patient property without the patient’s explicit consent or a valid reason related to the treatment.
038.3. Informed Consent:
- Prior to handling any patient property, CSL Therapists shall obtain informed consent from the patient, explaining the reason for accessing their belongings and ensuring their understanding and agreement.
038.4. Safeguarding Belongings:
- While in the presence of patient property, CSL Therapists shall take all necessary precautions to safeguard the belongings from theft, loss, or damage.
038.5. Return of Property:
- CSL Therapists shall promptly return any patient property to the patient’s custody upon the completion of the treatment session or as agreed upon with the patient.
038.6. Reporting Suspected Misappropriation:
- CSL Therapists who suspect or become aware of any misappropriation or mishandling of patient property, whether within their own practice or within CSL Therapy, shall promptly report such incidents to CSL Therapy’s regulatory authorities.
038.7. Disciplinary Consequences:
- Violation of this regulation, including the misappropriation of patient property, will result in disciplinary actions by CSL Therapy, including but not limited to certification or licensure suspension or revocation, in accordance with CSL Therapy’s disciplinary policies and procedures.
Failure to comply with this Patient Privacy/Confidentiality & Public safety regulation may result in disciplinary actions by CSL Therapy, including but not limited to certification or licensure suspension or revocation, dismissal fines, and incarceration in accordance with CSL Therapy’s disciplinary policies and procedures.
This regulation shall be effective as of [September 18, 2023] and shall remain in effect until revised or updated by CSL Therapy.
