Exam Format

The BCLEX is an in-person assessment conducted at designated testing centers, ensuring a controlled environment for candidates. Candidates will receive details about available testing center locations during the application process for the BCLEX exam. These options ensure convenience and accessibility for candidates, allowing them to select a testing center* that best suits their location and preferences for taking the exam. Questions are presented in a randomized manner, covering a range of competencies, with varying point allocations, ensuring a comprehensive assessment across diverse topics relevant to the field of Body Biomechanics (Body Contouring) Science & Technology in the Body Altering Aesthetics industry.

* NOTE: Applicants may only take one exam per day per testing center.

Scoring and Results

Throughout the examination, candidates will engage in cognitive processing to determine the most suitable responses for each question. Questions are assorted with differing point values allocated to assess a wide spectrum of competencies related to Body Biomechanics in the Body Altering Aesthetics industry.

The BCLEX exam is graded out of 210 points, requiring candidates to attain a minimum score of 80% or higher to successfully pass. Some questions are worth 1pt and other are worth 2pts.

Certification Upon Completion

A passing grade [80% or higher] grants candidates Board Certification necessary for State licensure in the field of Postoperative Induration Management Sciences & Technology within the Body Altering Aesthetics industry. The official certification will be “Board Certified Body Contouring Therapist“.

Application Procedure

The application process for the BCLEX exam incurs a $25 fee* and requires approximately 10 minutes to complete once all four specimen are available for upload submission. Application processing may take up to 2 weeks, and upon clearance approval, candidates can schedule the BCLEX assessment at their preferred testing center. The cost for the BCLEX examination is $295.

* This application fee must be rendered for every educational track an applicant desires to be certified and licensed in.

Content of the Exam: POBC & NSBC

The BCLEX (Body Contouring Licensing Exam) assesses a diverse array of subject areas integral to the field of body contouring. The exam encompasses Body Aesthetics Psychology, Bioengineering trauma remodeling Techniques and treatment Procedures, skin integrity, device selection, and integration. It evaluates candidates’ comprehension of Body Evolutions, scope of practice adherence, proper nomenclature usage, kinetics, client evaluations, and classifications. Additionally, the BCLEX assesses competencies related to Body Contouring adverse event management: safety & compliance, client body presentation comprehension; ethical, legal, & professional development, and biomedical fundamentals & theory.
