Liposuction lymphedema is a condition characterized by persistent swelling, often referred to as “swell hell,” that occurs for longer than a year following liposuction surgery– but chronic presentations may lay dormant up to 8-10yrs later. This swelling can be attributed to a variety of causes, including but not limited to damage to lymphatic vessels or valves during the surgical procedure, hormonal changes, poor post surgical compression therapy, incorrect postOperative massage treatments, and nutritional factors. The disruption of the normal lymphatic drainage system can result in the accumulation of lymphatic fluid in the affected area, leading to discomfort and other symptoms associated with lymphedema.
