The iMedic Post Surgical Board Certification is designed for healthcare professionals working in surgical offices, medical clinics, or ambulatory centers who interact with clients during their postoperative journey. This certification equips professionals with essential knowledge and skills to support clients through their healing process effectively. Participants learn to assess healing progress, provide guidance on postoperative care, address client concerns, facilitate lymphatic treatments, and recognize signs of complications, ensuring optimal outcomes and client satisfaction.
Who is this certification for?
This certification is for:
- Any professionals working inside of a facility that is deemed office or admin staff. If there are any CNAs, MAs, nurses, allied healthcare professionals, or other medical staff, they will become iMed-OS Board Certified
- A surgery center’s Chief of Staff
Who is this certification NOT for?
This certification is not for therapists whom will be performing manual treatments on clients (either medically necessary or elective
What skill sets does this program certify?
The NBAA Program for Office and Admin staff certifies on the following competencies through the iMed Post Surgical eCourse:
- 8 Phases of client Cosmetic Self Love journey
- Homeostatic return and basic trauma remodeling
- Proficiency in patient PreOp & PeriOp preparation
- Skill in educating clients about their surgical journey
- Navigating client postoperative expectations
- Incisional & iMedic Standard of Care
- Compression Therapy: Understanding of postoperative products and garments, including their application, accessories, stages, and benefits for clients
- Basic Nutrition, Ambulation, & Signs of Distress
- Scheduling Clients in-office for Incisional treatments & educating clients on the types of treatments they will need after Day 7
- Effective communication skills for building rapport with clients, addressing concerns, and ensuring client satisfaction and safety
- Industry product awareness
Surgeons who would like this type of certification for themselves would need to complete the class and meet respective requirements along with Office Staff. Should a surgeon* want to provide and perform post surgical massage treatments themselves, they will need to follow the THERAPIST SO Board Certification track.
* Should a therapist or a surgery center opt to provide treatments to clients past Day 7, they must apply for IP Provider Board Certification
