036.1. Medication Accountability:
- CSL Therapists shall be responsible for the proper handling, administration, and storage of medications used during treatments. Medications shall be used exclusively for client care purposes.
036.2. No Unauthorized Use:
- CSL Therapists shall not divert medications for personal use, resale, or any unauthorized purpose. Diverting medications for any reason other than client care is strictly prohibited.
036.3. Reporting Medication Loss:
- CSL Therapists who become aware of any loss, theft, or unauthorized use of medications shall promptly report the incident to CSL Therapy’s regulatory authorities and take appropriate actions in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
036.4. Medication Documentation:
- CSL Therapists shall maintain accurate records of medication administration, including the type, dosage, client to whom it was administered, and date and time of administration.
036.5. Secure Medication Storage:
- CSL Therapists shall store medications in a secure and controlled environment, with access limited to authorized personnel only. Medications shall be kept in their original packaging and labeled appropriately.
036.6. Compliance with Regulations:
- CSL Therapists shall comply with all relevant regulations and guidelines related to medication handling and administration, as established by CSL Therapy and any applicable local, state, and federal laws.
036.7. Reporting Suspected Diversion:
- CSL Therapists who suspect or have reason to believe that a colleague or coworker may be involved in the diversion of medications shall report their suspicions to CSL Therapy’s regulatory authorities.
036.8. Disciplinary Consequences:
- Violation of this regulation, including the diversion of medications, will result in disciplinary actions by CSL Therapy, including but not limited to certification or licensure suspension or revocation, along with referral to local authorities, in accordance with CSL Therapy’s disciplinary policies and procedures.
Failure to comply with this Patient Privacy/Confidentiality & Public safety regulation may result in disciplinary actions by CSL Therapy, including but not limited to certification or licensure suspension or revocation, dismissal fines, and incarceration in accordance with CSL Therapy’s disciplinary policies and procedures.
This regulation shall be effective as of [September 18, 2023] and shall remain in effect until revised or updated by CSL Therapy.
