043.1. Patient Health Information Privacy:
- CSL Therapists shall maintain the confidentiality and privacy of all patient health information, including but not limited to medical records, treatment notes, and personal information.
043.2. Unauthorized Access:
- CSL Therapists shall not access patient health information unless authorized to do so for the purpose of providing care or treatment. Unauthorized access to patient records is prohibited.
043.3. Data Security:
- CSL Therapists shall take appropriate measures to safeguard patient health information, including secure storage and transmission of electronic records, and shall comply with all applicable data security laws and regulations.
043.4. Consent for Disclosure:
- CSL Therapists shall obtain informed consent from patients before disclosing their health information to third parties, except as required by law or for treatment coordination.
043.5. Reporting Breaches:
- CSL Therapists who become aware of any unauthorized access to or sharing of patient health information shall promptly report such breaches to CSL Therapy’s regulatory authorities and the affected patients.
043.6. Patient Notification:
- In the event of a privacy breach that may compromise patient health information, CSL Therapists shall notify affected patients as required by law and assist in mitigating any potential harm.
Failure to comply with this Patient Privacy/Confidentiality & Public safety regulation may result in disciplinary actions by CSL Therapy, including but not limited to certification or licensure suspension or revocation, dismissal fines, and incarceration in accordance with CSL Therapy’s disciplinary policies and procedures.
This regulation shall be effective as of [September 18, 2023] and shall remain in effect until revised or updated by CSL Therapy.
