1-7 Years of experience
This board certification affirms your clinical expertise in aesthetic bioengineering, body contouring, and low-level tissue remodeling. It is designed for professionals working with clients undergoing both surgical (POBC) and nonsurgical (NSBC) body contouring, with a focus on aesthetic precision and structural balance.
If you work with clients who are 8 weeks or more post-op and transitioning into contouring care—or with those pursuing non-invasive shaping techniques without prior surgery—this certification confirms you have the knowledge to safely navigate both paths. Clients with surgical history present with layered complexities: fibrosis, displaced fascia, altered vascular patterns. NSBC clients, on the other hand, require a different strategy for coaxing transformation without surgical trauma.
This credential shows that you can differentiate those needs, respond with informed protocols, and understand the biomechanics of both previously altered and untouched tissue. From kinetic bioengineering principles to metabolic sculpting, it certifies your ability to create adaptive treatment plans that reduce dysmorphia risks, minimize aesthetic complications, and foster long-term structural harmony.
It signifies your advanced capability in reading tissue behavior in real time, selecting appropriate tools, maintaining ethical practices, and supporting clients with holistic, body-positive transformation techniques that align with safety and industry standards. While body contouring is not currently regulated in most jurisdictions, this board certification ensures your services remain aligned with a formalized scope of practice governed by CSL Therapy and the BAA-CORE Federation.
This certification is ideal for those currently practicing or intending to work in advanced post surgical or nonsurgical body contouring. This includes but is not limited to:

To keep your status in good standing:
Yes, if you meet the eligibility sets. This certification is designed to verify competency, not replace a license. You must still follow local and state scope of practice regulations.
No. Both licensed and unlicensed professionals can apply, as long as they meet the eligibility sets listed in the application.
Yes you will need to be versed in both to successfully pass this certification. POBC refers to clients 8+ weeks post-surgery who still present structural complexities from their procedures (e.g., skin presentations, fluid rebound). NSBC refers to clients who have never had surgery and are undergoing body transformation using nonsurgical methods. This certification covers both.
This is not a training program. This board certification evaluates your existing clinical knowledge and skills to determine if you’re competent to practice body contouring safely and effectively.
Yes. If you’re using tools, touch, or metabolic techniques to shape the body—even without surgery—this certification proves you understand what’s happening below the surface and can work safely within your scope.
No. Professionals from any country can apply as long as they meet the eligibility requirements and understand that scope expectations vary by region.
The only reason your application wouldn’t be accepted is if you don’t meet all eligibility requirements; or if you have a current suspended license within another healthcare field. If this is the case, your application fee will be refunded minus a $60 processing admin and transaction fee with 30 days of application rejection.
You have one year from the time you’re approved to take the exam and up to three attempts to pass.
The exam is designed to assess clinical readiness. If you’re actively working in the field and understand contouring beyond surface-level technique, it’s achievable. A passing score is 80%.
Yes. You’ll receive a digital badge, framed certificate, and an official proclamation from the BCF. You can also use the designation Certified Bioengineering Contour Specialist (CBCS) after your name.
This certification is issued by the BAA-CORE Federation and grounded in bioengineering sciences, body mechanics, and real-time tissue behavior—not just aesthetics. This certification offers professional representation.
No. This certification allows you to provide treatments on clients who are 8+ weeks post surgical; clients that reach this timeframe are further along their trauma remodeling continuum and the treatments they receive aren’t postOp.
You have 3 total attempts within 12 months. You can retake the exam after 30 days if needed.
No. To preserve exam integrity, question-by-question feedback is not provided.
Yes, your score will appear immediately after completing the exam.
A valid, government-issued photo ID matching your application.
Within 2–4 business days, you’ll receive your digital badge, score, and link to schedule your free regulatory review. Within 30–45 days, your physical certificate and lapel pin will arrive.
