Swelling caused by excess fluid buildup in tissues. It often affects the legs, ankles, or hands and can result from various conditions or factors like injury, inflammation, or medical conditions. It can be localized or distal; typically acute, chronic edema after surgery is referred to as “Swell hell” or if past 1 year postOp, it’s a chronic condition known as “liposuction lymphedema”.
