Grandfathering: Baseline Exams

Our baseline exams offer a unique opportunity for experienced healthcare providers in the Body Altering Aesthetics industry to showcase their expertise and bypass foundational courses to apply for Board Certification. Typically, professionals are required to complete foundational classes covering anatomy, surgical procedures, and recovery support skills. However, our baseline exams allow seasoned practitioners to demonstrate their knowledge and skills without the need for additional coursework.

Foundational Courses

Our foundational courses are designed to equip healthcare providers with a strong understanding of Cosmetic Self Love Therapy principles, focusing on three core modalities along a clients trauma remodeling continuum:

1. Incisional Sciences: Safe and effective treatments for clients post-invasive surgery from Day 1-7, merging wound care, massage therapy’s esthetics, and nursing in comprehensive programs.
2. PostOp-Indur: Manage post-operative complications like swelling and bruising, utilizing compression garments and devices to promote healing for clients Day 8-Week 8.
3. Body Contouring: Master non-invasive procedures like ultrasound and radiofrequency for safe body contouring, with specialized tracks for both post-op and nonsurgical clients that are 8+ weeks postOp (POBC) or have never had surgery before (NSBC).

These courses cover safety, efficacy, and best practices, empowering providers to deliver superior care and minimize complications. They, in essence, replace the need for professionals to attend an already regulated industry such as massage therapy, nursing, esthetics, etc– as these regulated industries do not cover professionals; everything clients need are outside scope of practice for these industries. But they do teach the basics. Foundational courses encompass the basics of anatomy, physiology, hygiene, body mechanics, ethics and more for Body Altering Aesthetics professionals.

However, recognizing the expertise of professionals who have contributed to the industry’s growth over the last 20 years, we offer a Grandfathering option. This allows eligible professionals to take baseline exams in Incisional Sciences & Technology, PostOp-Indur Sciences & Technology, and Body Contouring, providing a pathway for experienced practitioners to achieve Board Certification.

About Baseline Exams

Each exam is 100 questions long. Professionals will have 2 hours to complete their baseline exam. Exams are held virtually and are proctored through a monitored zoom link. Applicants will need to achieve an 85% or higher to pass the exam. Baseline exams can only be taken once; if applicants are unsuccessful at passing the exam, they will have to take a foundational course to continue with their Board Certification application.

As part of our commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of both clients and practitioners, we extend Legal Representation exclusively to providers who have achieved Board Certification through our National Body Altering Aesthetics Competency Program. This program validates the competence, critical thinking skills, and proficiency in client trauma remodeling care treatments of our certified professionals. In verifying their compliance with industry standards, we can confidently stand by their practice and provide legal support when needed. However, it’s essential to recognize that unverified professionals pose a potential risk of liability, as we cannot guarantee their level of training or adherence to best practices. Therefore, our Legal Representation is reserved for those whose competence and commitment to excellence have been rigorously assessed and validated through our certification process.
